Area youngsters in grades two through eight are invited to participate in Grizzly Basketball Camp Dec. 27-28 at the West Plains Civic Center.  The camp is being hosted by Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay, Assistant Coaches Braxton Williams and Walt Belcher, and members of the Grizzly Basketball team. Create a faux stained-glass barn quilt at this workshop. West Plains Council on the Arts (WPCA) will host the workshop, conducted by local artist Tara Shahan. Cost for the workshop is $40, all supplies included. Create the elegant beauty of classic stained glass using a picture frame, instant faux lead line and gallery glass paint. 

Sponsored by the West Plains Arts Alliance, this event is two-fold in purpose: it is designed for all area non-profit organizations to have the opportunity to introduce/re-introduce themselves to the public, while allowing the community to see what opportunities for volunteer participation are available. Booth space is offered to all area nonprofits free of charge.

The Harlin Museum has issued a call for entries to their annual Fiber & Textile Arts Competition Show. Entries will be accepted at the museum on Friday, Jan. 6, and Saturday, Jan. 7 (12 pm-4 pm each day). Entry fees for the competition will be 1 entry – $15; 2 entries – $25, 3 entries
