Missouri State University-West Plains’ (MSU-WP) new jazz band will give its first performance at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7 on the MSU-WP campus.

The jazz band concert will be prior to MSU-WP’s University/Community Band performance, which has been rescheduled to begin 6:30 p.m. that same day, Director of Music Rocky Long said.

Both performances will take place at the campus’ Commons area between Hass-Darr and Melton Halls off Garfield Avenue. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved to the First United Methodist Church Life Center.

The concerts are free; however, donations will be accepted, Long said.

Those attending should bring their own lawn chairs.
