Community Invited to Celebrate the Retirement of Chancellor Dennis Lancaster
After 33 years of dedicated service to Missouri State University–West Plains, Dr. Dennis Lancaster, Chancellor, will retire this summer. The Friends of the Garnett Library invite the community to a special evening of celebration in his honor. The Retirement Celebration for Dr. Dennis Lancaster will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, at the amphitheater adjacent to the Smith London Centennial Bell Tower on the Missouri State–West Plains campus. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will move indoors to the Neurodiversity and Autism Center on West Main.
This heartfelt tribute will include a performance by the Missouri State–West Plains Band, directed by Rocky Long. Guests will enjoy light refreshments made possible by the Friends of the Garnett Library. Seating at the amphitheater is limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
In recognition of Dr. Dennis and Rita Lancaster’s long-standing commitment to student success, friends and guests are invited to honor their legacy by supporting the newly established Lancaster Music Scholarship which will help provide scholarship support to students pursuing an education in music. Gifts can be made online at www.missouristatefoundation.org or mailed to the Missouri State University Foundation at 300 S. Jefferson Ave., Suite 100, Springfield, MO 65806 with a note that it is to support this scholarship.
Join us as we celebrate the remarkable career and enduring impact of Dr. Dennis Lancaster on our campus and community.
