Nov 14 @ 7:00 pm

Wench Hunt is an all-new fantasy comedy that follows a disgraced monster-killer Traven and his unlikely companion Jabeus into the Western Woods, where a mysterious wench has become the stuff of local legend. With a kingdom full of crooked nobles, questionable knights, talking trees, and creatures of every shape and size, what starts as a simple hunt quickly becomes something far bigger than anyone bargained for. Full of swordplay, ridiculous characters, and plenty of twists, Wench Hunt is a wild adventure where nothing is quite what it seems. 8 performances.

Live Music ~ Collin Donley Corey Waller & The Wicked Things @ Shenanigans
Nov 14 @ 8:00 pm
$15 Door
Music starts at 8:00pm
Collin hails from Sheridan, Wyoming, where wide-open spaces and a healthy blue-collar chip on his shoulder helped shape his sound. With his musical roots wrapped around the storytelling of Jamey Johnson, the grit of John Fogerty, and the edge of James Hetfield, Collin delivers a brand of country that leans dark, honest, and unapologetically raw. Blending outlaw country with a heavier, rock-infused backbone, his sound walks the line between tradition and rebellion. Built for backroads, barrooms, and wherever real stories still matter.
Cory Waller and the Wicked Things: “Grown from the black dirt that Iowa is known for, Cory Waller and The Wicked Things are a band of hard-working friends, sons and daughters of farmers and small-town folks. The band has traversed the Midwest, sharing their brand of black dirt country music; sometimes, the shows The Wicked Things play have more people than those of their hometowns. They write music and perform for the people they grew up aroun

“Kill All the Chickens” by Amy Olberding ~ Book Launch & Author Signing hosted by Ozarks Heritage Research Center @ Garnett Library
Nov 17 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
A book launch and author signing of “Kill All the Chickens: Grief and Memory on an Ozark Farm” by Amy Olberding. This event is sponsored by the Ozarks Heritage Research Center. Refreshments provided. Books available for purchase.

Amy Olberding is a soon-to-be-retired Presidential Professor of Philosophy at University of Oklahoma. She is also the fourth generation owner of her family’s Century Farm in southern Howell County and lives there with her husband and dog. Her books include The Wrong of Rudeness (Oxford 2019) and her most recent work, a collection of essays blending Ozark family stories and philosophy of death and grief, Kill All the Chickens (Polity 2027).

About the presentation — The talk will present what happens when a philosopher who is committed to writing a scholarly book about ancient Chinese and Roman death consolations ends up in charge of her family’s farm and living in the traces of her Ozark ancestors. The scholarly book never got written, but the talk will draw from the book that did: a mosaic of reflections on loss and tradition that draws freely from both ancient philosophy and life on a family farm.
