Continuing programming by the West Plains Council on the Arts (WPCA) to support The Alliance: Arts and Cultural Organizations (Arts Alliance) will feature a program on volunteer recruitment and retention, presented by Kasey Hammock from Partner for Better, Columbia, MO.

This program is open to the public. All organizations are invited to send representatives. The session will also be available via Zoom link. Those interested in joining virtually should email info@westplainsarts.org to register and obtain the link.

Kasey Hammock is a lifetime do-gooder, passionate about partnering with communities to create sustainable change. Hammock has a bachelor’s in social work, master’s in public affairs-Nonprofit Management, and is currently working on her PhD in Social Work. In the last decade, she’s worked in all levels of organizations from frontline staff, program management, and as an executive director. Hammock is currently the Lead Conspirator for Good with Partner for Better where she provides affordable, strengths-based capacity building services.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of non-profit organizations, but we rarely have the time/opportunity to create a volunteer strategy to support the diversity of our work,” says WPCA President Kathleen Morrissey. “This workshop will cover finding volunteers that align with your mission; sustaining long-term volunteer relationships; and making the most of your volunteer opportunities. You will be equipped to create a volunteer strategy that’s right for your organization.
