The West Plains Council on the Arts (WPCA) and Ozarks Healthcare (OHC) through the Behavioral Healthcare Center have partnered to host a selection of high school students’ artwork on the theme of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” The exhibit will be displayed in the Gallery at the Center in the West Plains Civic Center April 30 through May 6. The Gallery, on the mezzanine, is open to the public during regular Civic Center hours.
Children’s mental health week is the first week of May, and this exhibit of 9-12 grade works will help celebrate and build awareness for children’s mental health. A digital art gallery will follow.
WPCA will host a Meet-the-Artists event at the close of the exhibit on Friday, May 6, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend, meet the artists, and discuss the pieces on display.
